Littleton, Colorado, USA - May 23, 2017 Just over one month ago, Ronald C. Clute, Ph.D., the founding director of The Clute Institute, unexpectedly passed away. Dr. Clute’s dedication to the Institute has been essential to its success and continued growth, and his guidance will be forever missed. Moving forward, the Institute is now directed by Dr. Clute’s wife and co-founder, Diane Pielat-Clute. She is an experienced classroom teacher, holding a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Special Education from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. #GoOpen Campaign- Supporting Open Access
On Sunday, October, 29, 2015 the United States Department of Education announced a new campaign encouraging schools to use educational materials that are openly licensed. The organization discussed the launch of #GoOpen in a blog post on October 29. The proposal “requires educational materials created with federal grants to be openly licensed so that any school has access”. This is great news to the open access community because if passed, the regulation could require publications created with department grant funds, to be open access. We at the Clute Institute are excited to announce a blind peer reviewed option for papers submitted to our conferences. This endeavor will increase the quality of papers presented as well as create a better experience for our attendees. Papers submitted to our conferences have always been reviewed for appropriateness, using an in-house review process. Beginning with our Las Vegas International Business and Education Conferences in October 2015, authors have the option to submit their paper through the blind peer reviewed process.
